Our new topic in the Nursery is New Life-this evolved from the children's interest whilst learning all about the forest.

We have some frogspawn at the moment and we are keeping a diary of its changes, the children are drawing pictures and taking photos to monitor it.

We have our wormery, still going strong and we hope to receive our eggs next week to incubate and hopefully successfully hatch baby chicks!

We have re-ordered some caterpillars and we will see them grow, cocoon and hatch into butterflies.

The chicks have a home to go to afterwards and we have good knowledgeable people to advise us to ensure the welfare of and living creatures we have on the premises.

We hope to have a visit from a piglet, a lamb and a chicken over the course of the topic, but this is dependent on them being available and the visit not being stressful for them.

This is a very exciting topic for us all and we look forward to sharing it with you.
