Each year Argyll and Bute council distribute questionnaires to nurseries to gauge parent feedback.

We have received ours and they will be getting passed out to you soon.

Often when the questionnaires are returned, they come back with blank boxes if parents are unsure of what is being asked, or the tick the disagree box because they are unsure in which form the information comes to them.

Please let me give you a little guiding help here:

Q- parents are invited to become in a variety of ways with the nursery.

Examples: Parent committee, fundraising, parent helpers, open days, sharing a skill, home link sheets etc.

Q-Suggestions and questions are encouraged.

Examples- Home link sheets, suggestion box, facebook page, website, face to face.

Q- I get regular and helpful information about my child's development and progress with key staff.

Examples- Learning story booklet (Personal learning Plan-PLP), end of year reports, face to face chat

Q-I use advice and guidance form the nursery to help support my child's learning at home.

Example- PLP, Goals, I can statements, Home link sheets

Q-The Nursery provides information regarding Curriculum for Excellence and how this affects my child's learning.

Examples- PLP's, curriculum statements on displays, photo boards, posters, what we are learning statements.

Q- I was given a handbook when my child started nursery.

Due to cost implication of printing over 100 handbooks, we keep one in the porch each new term, it is also available on the website.

Q-I am aware of the full range of policies and procedures that I can access anytime.

Examples- New policies are displayed in the main hall for you to read and comment on before the final draft is drawn and implemented.

Q-I am aware of the latest inspection report for this nursery.

Example- Inspection reports are available at the front porch for 1 month after it is received. There is a link on the website that will take you directly to the Care Commission site, where you can access every report of SYFG since 2006.
