McColl’s host musical maestros (Dunoon Observer, 23rd December 2005)

On Saturday the guests were the Susan MacFadyen Trio, Susan on accordion, on fiddle was Willie Johnstone from Perth (and he can make that fiddle play), on drums was Nicky McMichan another band leader who plays the accordion when he is leading his own band. Three young and very talented musicians they provided great variations of tunes. This was their first time in Dunoon, again it will not be their last.

The second half of the evening was devoted entirely to the guest band, the Susan MacFadyen Trio, with Susan on piano accordion ably backed on second box by Roya and on drums by Heather Fraser of Inverness. The audience were treated to a great selection of sets played in traditional style with flair and confidence by the three young ladies, greatly appreciated by all present and bringing another successful Club night to a close.
