As an non arranged day this actually turned out to be a perfectly arranged match day!!!!!

on Saturday 15th Feb a  group of players from the South end and North end of Skye who play in the league turned up to Portree and played a succession of good games. the final result which was won by the south end by 30-9 was not really that important to everyone it was just a good day of playing badminton among friends.

A huge thanks to Chris Hanley who took to getting this organised.

Edith Lamond Feb 23rd 2013

Sadly due to a funeral Sleat had to with draw, this made it only 5 teams entering the competition. we decided to add two mixes to the competition making it 6 games a match instead of the 4. this made for a good long day of play and plenty of games.

After the round robin format WITH TIME AGAINST US  we reverted to games of 4.It came down to  the semi final draw of Broadford V Kyleakin which was won by Kyleakin 4-0  and Elgol V Dunvegan this was won by Elgol 4-0.

It was a long time in the coming that a team from Elgol should be in the final of the Cup. However Kyleakin completed their winning record of the day by going all the way with out losing a game and came out on top 4-0. the cup was presented to the winning team of Claire Wishart,Susan Hunter, Jonathan Mackinnon and Douglas Strachan by Edith's Grandaughters Ros and Helen Lamond who were also playing  in the cup with 2 men from Broadford and they preformed very well considering they had never met before.

thanks to veryone for a wonderful day. photos in Gallery
