'The Selfish Giant' commission
I was recently given an exciting opportunity to create a series of ceramic panels for the lovely new children's playground in Merrion Square, Dublin. The playground has been developed around the theme of Oscar Wilde's story - 'The Selfish Giant'. The panels I am working on illustrate the story and will be sited around the playground.
In addition to the panels, I am also creating a series of illustrations to accompany the text of the story which will be able to be downloaded from the Dublin City Council website. More on the development of this project soon.
Oscar Wilde lived on Merrion Square as a child in the mid 1800's. There is now a statue of him situated just behind the children's playground.
