Success at NARC Marymass Show

We recently took advantage of the fact that the Marymass Show being held accross from our field and some of the girls took their ponies in for some in-hand classes!

The girls (and Mums!) all worked extremely hard preparing their ponies for the show by grooming and practising leading in hand.  Even those who didnt want to compete got stuck in helping everyone else.  We are very proud of the teamwork and good sportsmanship shown both on the day and in the run up to the show.

It was a miserable day weather wise although the sun did make an appearance a few times.  The girls did their best with the ponies who considering were all looking fabulous.  Thanks to some very generous friends of Scottish Pony Partners the girls all looked the part too with their loans and gifts of equipment and jackets, we are very grateful to them all!  Victoria Tennent came down to help the girls be prepared for what they would have to do in the show and also helped out by providing jackets and a bridle.  To all who helped out we are very grateful we couldnt have done it without you!

Although this was for fun and the experience all of the girls and their ponies did extremely well and everybody earned a rosette or two, with Georgia and Bailey impressing the judges enough to win Supreme Champion in the horses section of the in-hand classes!

I will post photos soon but here is a wee list of our results.  Huge well done to everyone who took part and a special thank you to the Judges for being so welcoming and making what was most of the girls first experience of showing a fun and rewarding one.

Robyn and Tommy earned 1st place in Veteran Horse.

Mirren and Sugar Elf earned 1st place in Veteran Pony

Debbie and Heidi were placed 2nd in Veteran Pony although the judge said it was a close thing and she wished she had two firsts to hand out.

Iona and Drum were placed 3rd in Young Handlers and 6th in Mountain and Moorland pony, not bad for Drums first ever show and their rather temperamental show halter!

Georgia and Bailey were placed 1st in Best Gelding and 3rd in Mountain and Moorland Pony and recieved Supereme Champion in the horses in-hand section.

The ponies behaved impecably and really did us proud!  Well done girls and Team SPP ROCKS!!!
