So the past few weeks have been busy for the Scottish Pony Partners and the next few months look to be more of the same!
On the 16th & 17th of February the Parelli's brought their Horse and Soul tour to Britain. The venue was the fabulous equestrian centre at Aintree Race Course in Liverpool. Judith was all set to volunteer for the 2 days and the set up day before along with other Parelli students from allover Europe! A great chance to learn, network and promote SPP! At the last minute tickets for the sold out show became available and Cynthia and Kelly snapped them up. What a weekend the show was fabulous and we all got the chance to learn lots from the demos and do some shopping! Judith along with friend of SPP Stacie MacDonald got talking to some of the American contingent from Parelli UK and gave out some SPP bands for them and invited them back for the sponsored ride across Scotland Next year! Whether time scales will work out for them to make it or not they were impressed with what SPP is doing! Kelly and Cynthia had a great time watching the show and Kelly made loads of progres just building her confidence and has came back with a loads of enthusiasm and confidence to go on and progress Amsel and herself through the Parelli levels!
Huge thank you to Elle Weststyn who very kindly bought 2 starter kits at Aintree and donated them to us! Drum and Bailey now have halters and ropes to call their own in very fetching red and blue!
Also huge thanks to Stacie and Sarah for sharing their journey with us and as always it was a pleasure to catch up and plan for the future!
So the Future! This weekend Fionna McCallum level 4 Parelli student will be coming along to SPP to help us get Drum riding and to give Georgia some support progressing her freestyle with Bailey. Fionna studied with the late James Roberts Professional Parelli Colt starter and Horse Development Specialist. She has a wealth of experience and is an excellent horsewoman, she has also agreed to come on board with SPP as our horse developement advisor! We are very excited about this as this young lady has a very bright future ahead of her!
We have Elle booked in to teach the girls on the 16th of March the first lesson of 2013 for SPP. Looking forward to catching up with Elle and showing her all the progress the girls (and boys) have made!
At the end of April we will have a visit from a level 4 student and professional colt starter from the USA coming to spend a bit of time with us. More details when I have them!
Kelly and Georgia have signed up for the Alison Jones 4* Parelli Professional level 2/3 Clinic at Easterton Equestrian Centre in near Perth. It will be the first time the girls have been on a clinic and the first time for them taking their horses anywhere. Its very exciting and the prep for the event has already started with the girls working out a plan to prepare their horses for the travel and the clinic.
After all this Kelly will be going on a working holiday to the Highlands of Scotland to help Stacie at Northern Highlights Coloured Cob Stud. Stacie has a number of ponies to be started and restarted and Kelly is working on her savvy now so that she can go help out and get some hacking done in a very beautiful part of the country! Once the Summer holidays start Georgia will be heading up too and we'll be taking Bailey and Amsel up for the girls to spend some time with their boys in some beautiful country and checking out the route for the ride across scotland the next year! And I am only slightly jealous!
So much more I am sure will be happening between now and then I will do my best to keep everyone updated!
