What we do

The Clock Shop in Chapel of Garioch, near Inverurie was established in 1989 with the intention of providing a service of sympathetic restoration of antique clocks to customers.

We have undertaken complicated work on a lantern clock from 1640, bracket clocks from circa 1670 onwards, on various clocks from Glamis Castle, Duff House (National Galleries of Scotland), Pitmedden House and Haddo House and Fyvie Castle (NTS), Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museum Service  as well as many private and corporate customers.

Some of the services we undertake in house:

Complete overhaul of grandfather and other quality antique clocks

Dial restoration including painted dials and resilvering of brass dials

Wheel cutting and making parts in the style of what is extant

Glass replacement and bevelling

Casework to the highest standard using traditional materials including refinishing, repair, reveneering, colour matching etc.

Historical research and documentation of individual items and collections.  Advice to owners.
