.Scotpod Duck Races!......
Mechanic
The Duck Race events crew will take care of all the necessary requirements for staging and organising your event, including site meetings, liaising with authorities and co operation with chosen children’s charity. All we ask of the host broadcaster in return is Airtime, that’s all. The impetus of each race is to raise as much money as possible for the charity, whilst creating goodwill and publicity for the host broadcaster. All events are maintained by professional staff, both presentation and preparation, who are experienced in radio broadcasting, outside broadcasts and event management.

Each race endeavours to unleash up to 10,000 plastic rubber ducks in a local high publicity event, more ducks are available if the race gets over subscribed (up to a maximum of 20,000). These brightly coloured rubber ducks are released into a slow flowing river or a large pond area somewhere within the TSA. The first rubber duck to cross the finish line wins a star prize for it’s owner, the next nine ducks also generate a prize for it’s owner, The star prize is usually a high calibre item, such as shopping sprees, weekend breaks and more recently new cars, although large prizes are always dependant on location and contacts. Careful negotiation with the host broadcaster ensures that there is no conflict of interest or clash with major advertiser when prizes are chosen. The adoption of ducks by the public for each race can be obtained in several ways; adoption online via the co-branded website, adoption at one of our pre-race publicity events or adoption on the day at the event site prior to the race.
There is also a corporate duck race enabling larger companies to become involved and position their product name at the heart of this high publicity event.
The Radio Station Rubber Duck!
The Radio Station duck is one rubber duck produced in the radio station’s colours and features quite prominently the stations logo and branding. This duck is also released during the race with a 1 in 10,000 chance of crossing the line first and winning its owner a superb prize. The mechanic for adoption of this duck can be pre-arranged with the host broadcaster to any pre-existing competition style.
By its very nature these races are fun, eye-catching plus generate a lot of public interest by their quirky nature and added feel-good factor that everyone paying to adopt a duck is donating to a worthwhile local children’s charity, with the added incentive of a large prize for its winner.

The Duck Race is a stand alone event which can draw a crowd, however in order to generate the maximum amount of revenue for the chosen charity and the optimum exposure for the host broadcaster, we endeavour where possible to back onto an already existing event, i.e. gala day, festivals etc.
