Recent Ringing Trip 27 June to 4 July
06 July 2009

Nigel Scriven and Jimmy Morton recently spent a week on Sanda and  were able to catch and ring 462 birds of 24 species. With only one of us actively ringing, it was a busy week.

The bulk of these were seabirds, with the highest number being 118 Herring gull chicks, followed by Razorbill with 91 (74 chicks and 17 adults), 82 Shag (81 chicks and 1 adult), 72 Storm Petrels, 13 Common Gull chicks, 9 Guillemots, and 4 Manx Shearwaters.

Of the passerines the top species ringed was Wheatear with 22.

The ringing totals for this trip are detailed in the document library.
