The Not Very Long Nor Very Wrong Nor Very Wrong Way Up/Down/Round

I'm motorcycling from the Cotswolds to Spain.

Not too huge an adventure by today's standards - but an adventure for me nontheless. Found a couple of good sites that have provided tons of advice and not a little caution, especially this one

I'm driving a BMW R1150RT. At least I hope I am.

I popped it into the local BMW dealer for a service on Monday, usual thing, oil, 2 new tyres, check the brakes etc....BUT, oh my goodness

I got two calls yersterday, firstly to say both sets of brake pads needed replacing, the main stand was siezed and the left handle grip was split. OK, I'll wear that extra cost, especially the brakes.

So I carefully calculated my diminishing funds, then the second call and this one was even better: "Hello, Mr B., sorry to say that whilst reassembling your bike it's clear the Drive Shaft is f***ed (my word, not hers)" Oh dear.

Well, it should be being fixed today and be collectably this eveing or tomorrow morning.....
