The footbridge after the main weir in Dunblane has been completely renewed and is open again.

At first glance there is a lot of open metalwork below the bridge and it looks a lot closer to the water than the previous one. However closer inspection shows that the bottom of the bridge is actually no lower than before. The bridge is taller overall.

It does look more intimidating to go under in extremely high conditions.

Most mere mortals will not be on the river in those levels just the guys from Stirling Canoe Club ;-)
