Bogus Caller Information

For your information Bogus Callers have been targeting your area. A bogus caller may be someone offering to complete home improvements, pose as a council official or even a police officer. Please be assured that the Police are investigating the matter and may have already apprehended the offender(s).

You live in one of the safest areas in the whole of the UK.  However, you should do all you can to avoid becoming a victim.

• Always check callers’ identities.

• Always use you doorchain.

• If you are unsure – do NOT let anyone into your home.

• Keep windows and doors locked.

Please look after your community, if you know a vulnerable or elderly person who could be a target, and you see work being done at their property, check it out and if in doubt report it.

Nominated Neighbour Scheme

Cards are available for a scheme where a unknown caller is advised to go to a nominated neighbour (or relative) to make arrangements for the caller to visit the person concerned.

Please use the FEEDBACK facility (see Menu) to get a card if you are elderly or living alone and feel that this scheme would make you feel more secure.
