Dr Phil Beemoon Phd Stirling University
This is my webpage outlining some of the research projects that I have been involved in at Stirling University.
Having completed a Phd in Environmental Radioactivity "An investigation of the impact of Microwave energy from Mobile Phone installations on the growth developemtn of Pinus species", I went on to become a Research Fellow. After a spell working at Idaho State University, Dept. of Physics as a teaching fellow I returned to Scotland in 2000 to return to Stirling University as Professor Emeritus,Phd supervisor in the School of Biological and Environmental Science.
Research Interests
The development of quantitative remote monitoring techniques (gamma spectrometry, in-situ spectroradiometry and remote sensing) in environmental radioactivity and radioecology in terrestrial and aquatic environments and the remote sensing of Harmful Algal Blooms. Research areas also include soil erosion, sediment/peat dating, eutrophication and plant stress.
Head of the Environmental Radioactivity Lab, UKAS (ISO 17025) accredited. (www.erl.stir.ac.uk )
