Information.
Pewter thread embroideries on reindeer skin is a handicraft with very old traditions. Lapps started to use pewter thread as it was cheaper and easier to use than silver thread. It is also known as poor mans silver.

The thread is nickel-free and contains four percent silver making the coiled thread strong but flexible which is why the variety of interesting designs is endless.

The naturally tanned reindeer skin is of good quality, making it possible to make bracelets and other Lappish craft in both brown and black leather.

All the buttons used in this craft are hand made from reindeer horn  or from silver clay. See link below!

Pewter Thread Embroidered bracelets make very popular men's gifts as well as women's.
