Activities

The Orkney Bat Group meets on a regular informal basis throughout the summer. We also meet in conjuction with Orkney Field Club for more formalised walks, talks and training sessions.

Due to the eratic nature of our climate forward planning of bat walks can be challenging.  We meet at different venues most Fridays, but this may change to Saturday or Sunday depending on the forecast....we can meet mid-week when sunset is early in the night. Contact is through e-mailing and is often at short notice.

We have carried out dusk to dawn surveys, roost emergence surveys and we check out sightings of bats by the general public.
