Police Council Tax Update
Local Government minister John Healey has failed to support pensioners demands for a cap on the Police Council tax in Cheshire.. The 17% increase is in marked contrast to the increae in state pension in line with inflation. And already the Police Authority is preparing the ground for further minflation busting increase in the next two years.
The Minister said the government intends to take action to limit the increases to 3% but Chairman of the Police Authority Peter Nurse said " We will consider this carefully in the coming months as we plan next years budget. We may need to dicuss this further with the government."
