Licence Renewing Age

Following our letter to our MP in November last year the DVLA have announced they are to review the age at which everyone must renew their driving licence. For fifty years or more this has been stuck at 70 but we argued that if retirement age can be put back and we can do jury service beyond 70 then the age at which your driving licence expires should also be reviewed.

It seems that now DVLA agree with us and a full public consultation is to be held. No doubt the ususal Top Gear type stereotypical comments will emerge but statistics show that older drivers are the safest.
