MORE CUTS ON THE WAY

Cheshire East have admitted that more cuts in services are to be announced following the news that they are currenlty prdicting a budget overrun of £16m. In addiotn teh reserves are now at a dnagerously low level, £4m below the £14m minmum specified by their own auditiors.

If they run true to form then the people who will suffer must will be the frail elderly, the disabled, those with special learning difficulties and of course their carers.

The only reasons given for this disgarceful state of affairs is that energy prices have gone up, and - oh yes- people are getting older.

It's only 6 months since the Council set its budgets and both these factors should have been taken into account.

It is the responsibilty of the executive to manage to this  budget and it is the responsibilty of the elected council to hold the executive to account.

On both counts they have failed and we therefore believe that both the Chief Executive and thd Leader of the Council should resign
