BUDGET HITS PENSIONERS

Another budget day and again pensioners are among the biggest losers.

Hardest hit will be those whose very lives depend on the Winter Fuel Allowance which is being cut back to £200 or £300 for those over 80.

This will inevitable result in an increase of unexpected winter deaths next year especially as fuel prices are increasing also.

We urge you to sign the NPC petition - simply e-mail your name and address to info@npcuk.org to get  this callous decision reversed.

Although the personal allowance is increasing by £1000 and this will undoubtedly help low income people, the Age Allowance for pensioners is only going up by RPI - about 5%.  For full facts and figures click on this link for the NPC Budget briefing Notes

Of course on top of this pensioners in Cheshire East will be hardest hit by their cuts, with care charges increasing, levels of care being cut, meals on wheels cut, mini bus service cut.
