LATEST DOOR-STEP SCAMS

Pensioners in Crewe are being warned to be on their guard against the latest scams.

Firstly there have been reports of people in the town selling fake Scottish Power energy credit cards. These have supposedly got £20 of credit on them but in fact they turn out to be false

We are also concerned about possible scams arising from Cheshire East's decision to forward personal details of everyone claiming single occupancy council tax discount to an agency in Twikenham. If anyone knocks on your door or phones claiming to be from Cheshire East and wants to check how many people live in the house, we advise you do not let them enter and you should call the police.
