Town Square Rain Gully
As part of the redevelopment program following the transfer of the war memorial to the new civic square, the town square has been completely repaved. As part of this process a dish gully has been laid alongside M&S. Almost as soon as it was finished the first incident occurred when an elderly lady was pitched from her wheelchair as it hit the unmarked gully. Cheshire East Council initially denied there was anything amiss but investigation by the NPA (1) has found that this type of gully is no longer approved for use on an access way. We understand that remedial action is to be taken.
