Eagle Bridge Bus Stops

Press Release -

Eagle Bridge/Dunwoody Way Bus Stops.

Crewe pensioners are renewing their calls for better provision for bus users on Dunwoody Way and have written to local MP Edward Timpson asking him to intervene.

The No31 bus is now running past the Eagle Bridge medical centre but many older people are very critical of the new bus stops and shelters.

Hugh Emerson, Secretary of the Northern Pensioners Association said “Several of our members have commented on the inadequacy of the shelters in driving rain and the lack of seating but most of all the less able regard the pathway on the south side as very dangerous because of the proximity of the fast moving traffic on Dunwoody Way. As the vegetation grows through the railing things will only get worse. Many older people now avoid travelling by bus if they possibly can even though they have a free bus pass. Cheshire County Council officials have done their best but we must now take it to a higher level to get the funding needed to bring about change.”
