BLACKPOOL 2009
For once the weather was absolutely glorious as everyone gathered in Delamere Street ready to board the coach at half past nine.
BBC Radio Stoke were on hand to broadcast a live interview and Rachel and Hilary from Wulvern Housing who had kindly funded the coach also came along to see us off.
After lunch we gathered in the magnificent ballroom in the Winter Gardens along with over 2000 other delegates from all over the UK.
The opening session this year copied the format of the popular BBC program Question Time. On the panel were the pensions spokespersons of the three main political parties and Joe Harris of the NPC. It was a lively debate spoilt only by the poor acoustics in the wings of the hall. A full transcript of the procedings is available in our Library. (Click on the link below)
