9Darts/Domino Rules 2019-2020

 

  1. The League shall be known as the “Northwich & District Clubs - Darts and Domino League” and shall be governed by a Committee consisting of a Chairman, Vice Chairman, League Secretary, Treasurer, Fixture Secretaries and one representative from each club.

    The League will meet on the second Monday of each month at each club, with a team or teams participating in alphabetical order.

  2. The committee shall elect an “Executive Committee” to deal with all disputes etc. This Executive Committee will be composed of the Chairman, Vice Chairman, League Secretary, Treasurer, Fixture Secretaries and two others elected at the Annual General Meeting, to be held prior to the start of each season.

 

  1. Each team will be supplied with a copy of the rules and any team found to be infringing the rules will be liable to a penalty, fine or both. These rules must be displayed at each Club/Pub.

 

  • League Entrance Fee is £10.00 for each team entered.
  • Team Knockout Fee is £15.00 for each team entered
  • Match Fees are £3.00 per League match.

 

  1. Clubs/Pub teams who are not represented at monthly meetings will be fined £3.00 for each meeting not attended, providing they have not given their apologies.

Clubs/Pub teams who do give apologies for non attendance may only do so for two meetings during the season. All other monthly meetings missed during the season, whether their apologies have been given or not will be fined for non attendance.

Delegates may only represent one Club or Pub.

 

  • Any team playing an ineligible player will forfeit that fixture being played on the night and will be fined £10.00.

  • Any home team failing to submit their results on time will be fined £2.00 for each result missed.

     

    5. Registration

     

  • All Clubs/Pubs desiring membership of the League shall be duly proposed and seconded and accepted by a majority.

     

  • All players must be registered on the OFFICIAL FORM and for late registrations the Club’s copy must be initialled by the League Secretary, Fixtures Secretary or Chairman at least 4 DAYS before the date of the fixture they play in.

     

  • NO REGISTRATIONS will be accepted after the October meeting unless permission is given by the Executive Committee.

     

  • Each team may register no more than 20 Players.

  1. Domino and Darts Team Transfers

 

  • A player may transfer provided they have not played more than 2 games for their original team.
  • Both team captains must agree and sign the official transfer form, the transfer must take place during the first half of the season and no player shall transfer more than once during the season.
  • No team can transfer more than 3 players, or accept more than 2 transferred players during a season; no player can play more than twice against any other team in a league match during the season.
  • The transfer must be approved by the Executive Committee whose decision is final.

 

  1. All Domino/Darts results sheets must be forwarded or phoned in by the HOME TEAM to the Fixture Secretary by not later than 12 noon on the Saturday following the fixture.

 

  1. All Fees and fines must be paid at the monthly meeting following notification.

 

  • All fees must be paid up to date by the December meeting.

 

  • If any team is in arrears, they will meet with the Executive Committee to discuss whether a fine will be imposed or points deducted.

 

  • Players from any team owing fees from a previous season will not be allowed to play in the league unless they pay an equal share of the fees owed by the team. 

 

  1. All Fixtures are to be played on or before the date on the official Fixture list or as decided by the Executive Committee. All postponed matches must be played within 14 days of the official date and if not played within that timescale, the available team will be deemed to have won.
    • In such a situation, the domino team will score 12-0, and the darts teams will score 8-0.

 

  1. All Fixtures will be played home and away. All players must be registered with the League

 

  1. Any complaint about unfair tactics (Unruly Behaviour, Foul Language, Intimidation and False Accusations) must/should be dealt with by both Captains on the night. If the complaint cannot be resolved in a manner acceptable to both sides on the night, a protest must be lodged in writing to the League Secretary within 3 days of the offence with a fee of £10.00, which is returnable only if the Executive Committee rule that the protest is upheld. The Executive Committee depending on the seriousness of the complaint will decide what action is required.

 

   12. Darts & Domino - Teams who Drop out of the League

  • Should any team drop out of the League halfway though the year or just after, then the points accumulated up to the halfway point stand.
  • Any points awarded for games played in the second half of the League will be removed.

 

13.  Prizes, Trophies or Vouchers, on the basis of a maximum of 10 per team or a cheque for the total amount due made payable to a nominated person or organisation, will be awarded to the following

 

  • Winners & Runners up of the League Divisions.
  • Winners & Runners up of the Team Knockout Competitions
  • Winners & Runners up of the Ron Dodd Trophy (Trophies only).
  • Extra prizes may be purchased if required with a deposit of £10.00 per prize payable before purchase is made.

Note: There can be no “mixing” i.e. it must be 10 prizes, 10 Trophies or 10 Vouchers per team, or a cheque for the total amount due.

 

14. ALL LEAGUE TROPHIES MUST BE INSURED BY THE HOLDERS, and returned cleaned (a cleaning charge will be levied if returned dirty) by the April meeting. Failure to return the trophy/s on time will result in a fine of £25.00. If the trophy/s are not returned or have been lost, then the holder/s of the trophy/s will be responsible for its replacement.

All Trophies are to be kept at the venues to which the winners play

 

      14a.All League funds will be deposited in the NATIONAL WESTMINISTER BANK    PLC, THE BULL RING, NORTHWICH in the name of the Chairman, Secretary & Treasurer.

 

DARTS.

 

  1. The game will be 501, best of 3 legs, straight start, and finish on a double.

 

  1. All matches will be played on a standard board 5ft. 8ins. from the floor to the centre of the bull, with a minimum throw of 7ft. 91/4 ins. (237 cms).

 

  1. Starting time will be 8.30pm. The away player commences leg 1 and 3, with the home player commencing the second leg. Each team will consist of 8 players.

 

  1. A win counts as 2 points, a draw as 1 point. A record of aggregate scores will be kept and used to determine League positions, with teams having the same number of points.

 

  1. All players will draw against each other to determine the order of play.

 

  1. A checker must be appointed by the away team to help the marker.

 

  1. Any Team not turning up for a League Match will forfeit 2 points and be fined £5.00. The Result will be received as an 8-0 win for their opponents

 

DOMINOES

 

  1. The game shall consist of 4 pairs from each team and each pair must play 3 legs.

 

  1. The home team will have the first drop at the start of each leg. All players will pick up their dominoes in turn after the first home player has picked up his/her dominoes.

 

  1. A win will count as 2 points and a draw as 1 point. A record of aggregate scores will be kept and used to determine the League positions of teams with equal points.

 

  1. Starting time will be 8.15pm, with no waiting time allowed. The second game must start by 8.30pm and the last game must have started no later than 9.45pm provided there is equipment available.

 

  1. When any part of the face of a domino becomes visible to any of the other players during the game that domino must be played. If the domino will not go at either end, the player will go 8 back and the domino will go back into the sleeping pack.

 

  1. If any player drops out of turn, the player will go 8 back and the domino will go into the sleeping pack.
    • If a player at the first drop of a leg, and there being no points on the board, drops out of turn, they must go 8 back i.e. they must score 8 points before moving onto the board.

 

  1. If any player is proven to have knocked when he/she could go, then they will lose the leg, provided the player immediately following him/her has played a domino or knocked.

 

  1. All dominoes must be turned up at the end of every hand, failure to do so will cause the offending player to lose the leg.

 

  1. Any Team not turning up for a League Match will forfeit 2 points and be fined £5.00. The Result will be recorded as a 12-0 win for their opponents.

 

  1. A marker must not make any claim unless a player has complained against an infringement of the rules.

 

  1. Spectators must not make any comment while the game is in progress and keep well away from the tables.

 

  1. Team/Vice Captains must ensure the equipment to be used is checked prior to the start of a match. In the event of it being discovered that a pack of dominoes is defective of marked (so that a domino can be identified by a player or players when face down) then the following will apply:-
    • Any leg or legs played with the equipment and completed before the equipment is noticed to be defective or marked, then the result will stand
    • If during a game it is noticed that the equipment is defective of marked, then the game will stop at that point and will start again.
    • Nothing in this rule shall prevent a complaint being made in accordance with Rule 11 – Unfair Tactics.

 

Knockout Competitions.

 

  1. All Knockout competitions will be played on the dates and at the venues decided by the   committee.

 

  1. In the pairs Knockout competition, 3 pairs may be entered and any 2 can play.

 

  1. The entrance fee for the pairs Knockout will be £3.00 for 2 or 3 players.

 

  1. All matches in the Knockout Competition must be played at the venues decided on by the committee. Failure to comply will mean automatic disqualification from the competition.

 

Team Knockout.

 

  1. All matches will be played home and away except for the Semi-Final and Final.

 

  • The Semi-Final and Final will be played at neutral venues as decided by the Committee.
  • In the event of a draw in any match, 3 legs will be played to decide the winner.
  • A team failing to turn up for either leg of a match will be automatically disqualified from the competition.
  • In the Knockout Final, if either team fails to turn up to the match, then they will be disqualified from entering the Knockout tournament in the following year.

 

Pairs Knockout

 

  1. Any registered Darts or Dominoes player may play in the Darts or Dominoes Pairs Knockout.

 

  1. For the team Knockout, Rule No.7 regarding result sheets will apply

 

Darts Knockout.

 

  1. The game will be as the League 501.

 

  1. In the Semi-Final and Final, bull up for the break off. The winner starts the 1st leg, the loser the 2nd leg. If a 3rd leg is required, bull up to determine who breaks.

 

  1. For the pairs Knockout games, Rule 42 applies in all rounds.

 

  1. The pairs will be decided on one night (Wednesday or Thursday) at a venue decided by the Committee.

 

Dominoes Knockout

 

  1. The game will be as in the League.

 

  1. In the Semi-Final and Final, the drop will be drawn for. The player with the highest domino winning the drop shall start the 1st leg, his opponent shall start the 2nd leg and the partner of the player who dropped first shall start the 3rd leg. This method must also be applied to any playoff games.

 

  1. In the Pairs Knockout the rule regarding the drop shall be as rule 46 in all rounds.
