The twinning charter between Denzlingen and Konstancin-Jeziorna was signed in the Manor House at Obory, near Warsaw,  Poland on Sunday19th June, 2011.  

A small delegation from North Hykeham travelled to Poland to witness the ceremony. along with representatives from some of Konstancin's other twin towns including those from The Netherlands, Latvia and Lithuania.  Of course, the chief delegation consisted of a coach full of our old friends from Denzlingen, with civic leaders also being in attendance.  Konstancin-Jeziorna is largely set in woodland and is a Summer resort and Spa town, despite being only just outside the boundaries of Warsaw.  The British contingent were overwhelmed with the generosity and hospitality shown by our Polish hosts.  Given that Konstancin is only 12 miles from Warsaw airport and that there are direct flights from Robin Hood Airport near to Doncaster, the opportunities for further contacts between North Hykeham and Konstancin are plentiful.  

The second signing of the twinning charter will take place in Denzlingen during the "Kultur Woche" in October, 2011.
