Different Type Of Locksmiths In Frodsham & Helsby

Did you know that there are different types of locksmiths who specialise in different areas ?

  • General Locksmiths
  • Auto Locksmiths
  • Safe Engineers/ Technicians
  • Warrant Locksmiths
  • National Locksmiths

So at Lockkeys Locksmiths Frodsham & Helsby we are general locksmiths who mainly deal with residential and some commercial locks but not vehicles or safes. We tend to spend most of our time cdealing with failed or problematic locks most of the time, I descriobe us as being problem solvers.

Auto Locksmiths tend to specialise in vehicle locks, opened them replacing keys, cutting keys etc, which needs differne tools and equipment than a general locksmith would carry.

Safe engineers/technicians tend to be directly employed by bigger companies such as Chubb or Gunnebo who specialise in commercial safes, these locksmiths provide maintenance, opening services and involved in the installation of commercial safes and vaults. Although I do know of a few independant locksmiths who are also safe engineers/technicians.

Warrant Locksmiths tend to provide lock opening services for court enforcment agents serving utility or commercial warrants, they are known for their skills in gaining non destructive entry eg picking locks but not neccessarily in gaining entry to fialed locks.

National locksmiths are employed by national companies who provide general locksmith services nationwide using both employed and sub-contracted locksmiths. Thes companies have call centres and tend to charge more than the local independent locksmiths due to their large overheads and advertising costs.
