Living Educational Theory research

Masters level

Living Educational Theory research is a form of educational-practitioner self-study research. A living-educational-theory is an educational-practitioners valid explanations of their educational influences in learning. Their embodied values are clarified and evolve in the course of their research and form their explanatory principles and standards of judgment in these explanations.

We are intending this site to provide resources for people who want to develop their understanding, knowledge and practice of Living Educational Theory research at Masters level.

We are working on the assumptions that you want to:

  1. Research, at Masters level, a question which will enable you to understand, improve and explain your practice and your educational influences in your own learning, the learning of others and the learning of a social formation you are part of.
  2. Developing your academic knowledge and skills at Masters level (such as these) and
  3. Participate in, and contribute to, intellectual and scholarly discourses of an emancipating, inclusive and egalitarian global social movement that carries hope for the flourishing of humanity.

To begin with we are focusing on developing resources to support students and tutors working on the first full Living Educational Theory Masters programmes created by Joy Mounter, validated by Newman University, and a Living Educational Theory Master’s Degree Apprenticeship, all being offered by The Learning Institute.

The first resources will be to support the virtual programme for YEAR ONE in both Masters programmes (and the apprenticeship programme - see below) on Research Design and Professional Enquiry.

We would welcome any feedback on what use you have made of any of these resources, what you are looking for but not found and any thoughts you have about how to make it easier for you and others to navigate the site.
