  2. Why am I using Living Educational Theory Research and what makes it the most appropriate?    Alternatives considered and why LETR chosen
  3. What methods did I use to clarify and communicate my values, which emerged in the course of my research, and improve and provide evidence of my educational influence in learning, and what influenced my decisions?    Methods used, e.g. video, journaling, surveys, interviews, document analysis, etc.
  4. How did I document changes over time in thinking, actions, and outcomes?    Temporal trail: journals, artifacts, videos
  5. How did I gather evidence of my values being expressed (or not) in practice?    Data linked to value enactment/non-enactment
  6. What forms of data have I used to support and challenge my emerging claims to knowledge?    Multi-modal data articles I have published, videos of my teaching, feedback from my students, focus group sessions, artifacts, interviews etc.
  7. How was my choice of methods influenced by my evolving research question and underpinning values?    Explicit chain: value → question → method
  8. How did I test the validity of my claims and strengthen the rigor of my research?    Critical friends, validity and reliability criteria used, community of practice feedback, presentations at conference with critical feedback etc.
  9. How and why has my research evolved, and how has this process helped me to clarify my values, questions and research focus     Restate the research question and its link to the methods chosen
  10. What ethical issues did I identify and address, and how are these aligned with those of the /organisation I work for and the professional/regulatory body, and the values that give my practice meaning and purpose?     Provide the ethics number if you have one and evidence of adhering to the ethical codes of conduct of the organisation/institution you work for and the professional/regulating body/ If you don’t have an ethics number: Explain how you identified and addressed ethical issues in your research, including:

    • Reference relevant guidelines (e.g. BERA, EEF, university codes, or professional/regulatory bodies).
