EXAMPLE 2: A YOUNG COUPLE TAKING A 3 MONTH SABBATICAL TO TRAVEL THE WORLD, THE FOLLOWING IS THEIR ITINERARY:
They departed from Manchester Airport and flew via Heathrow and Bangkok to Phuket. Private car transfer from the airport took them to the Karon Beach Resort and Spa where they spent 14 nights in a deluxe double on a bed and breakfast basis before taking the private car transfer back to the airport for a flight to Bangkok. The Karon Beach Resort is a boutique resort with friendly, attentive service in a delightful location. Ideal for couples. Property description : 80 comfortably appointed rooms and suites all with seaview and private balconies. All rooms fully equipped with deluxe resort amenities. A relaxing 14 nights at a beach resort to start their travels.
They then flew to Bangkok where they were collected by a private car transfer and taken to the Bel Aire Princess Hotel in the city. Staying room only in a standard room for 3 nights. 3 exciting days seeing the sights of Bangkok before again being taken by private car transfer to the airport for a flight to Denpasar Bali. On arrival in Denpasar they are taken by private car transfer to the Inna Grand Bali Beach Resort in Sanur. Where they stay for 7 nights in a superior garden wing room on bed and breakfast. The renovated Garden Wing has its own bright new open air lobby and brightly decorated rooms. All are very spacious and have a large balcony with views over the tropical garden. The cottages are set in gardens furthest from the beach and are the oldest rooms in the resort. There are several dining options and the new spa is very attractive and offers a full range of treatments. After a further relaxing 7 days in a tropical paradise they take their private car transfer to the airport for a flight to Sydney. To keep the cost of their trip down they have opted to take a taxi from Sydney airport to Hostel accommodation in the city (approx £11-20 per person per night). However they did pre-book the following tours: A Sydney Harbour Bridge climb and a full day tour to the Blue Mountains. Obviously with 7 days in Sydney they were also able to visit the Opera House, Bondi Beach, and lots of other Sydney sights before heading to the airport after 7 hectic days in Sydney to board a flight to Townsville in Queensland.
On arrival in Townsville they made their own way to the Holiday Inn where they stayed overnight room only in a standard room. The following day they made their way to the harbour where they boarded the Coral Princess small cruise ship (Approx 50 passengers). Day 1: From Townsville To Palm Group of Islands 12:30pm: Board your Coral Princess Cruises small ship at Breakwater Terminal for a 1:00pm departure. Departing Townsville, we cross Halifax Bay, passing close to Magnetic Island before cruising amongst the spectacular Palm Group of Islands. There is time to settle in and discover your home for the next three nights. In the evening, join our crew and travelling companions on the top deck as the sun spectacularly sets over the reef.Overnight: Aboard Coral Princess Meals: lunch, dinner.
Day 2: From Pelorus Island To Dunk Island This morning we awaken moored beside Coral Princess Cruises' very own tropical island, Pelorus. We invite you to join us on the beach for a delicious beach BBQ, freshly prepared by the Captain. After breakfast, explore the surrounding rainforest on a guided nature walk. Pelorus' fringing reef, in the shallow waters just meters off the beach, offers some fantastic snorkelling opportunities, allowing us to enjoy an up-close view of the colourful coral growing on this section of reef. Our experienced crew will be on hand to provide assistance, advice and guided snorkelling tours for less experienced swimmers. Admire the many varieties of colourful corals from the glass bottom boat with the Marine Biologist, accompany our Dive Instructor on an unforgettable SCUBA dive or simply relax on the long stretch of golden sandy beach, the choice is yours! Cruising northward, discover the towering island cliffs and mangroves of the Hinchinbrook Channel and the Family Group of Islands. This afternoon we visit Dunk Island Resort where there is time to relax by the resort's pool, enjoy a drink in the cocktail bar or join a guided rainforest walk discovering the island's unique flora and fauna. Day 3: From Nathan Reef To Cruising Enjoy a full day to discover Nathan Reef. This section of the reef offers some of the most colourful coral gardens found anywhere along the length of the reef, allowing us to view many of the 400 different species of coral living in this World Heritage-listed wonderland. Venture in to the warm tropical waters to explore the corals and marine life on a guided snorkelling tour and join the Marine Biologist for a glass bottom boat tour. For the ultimate Great Barrier Reef experience, accompany our Dive Instructor on an unforgettable SCUBA dive. Later, discover some of the amazing creatures living on the reef with our Marine Biologist at the on-board display tank. Enjoy the rare opportunity for a close up look at sea cucumbers, colourful starfish and other marine life living on this part of the reef. Day 4: From Thetford Reef and Sudbury Cay To Cairns. Anchoring off Thetford Reef and Sudbury Cay we enjoy our final opportunity to snorkel over the reef. Join our Marine Biologist for a glass bottom boat tour over the colourful coral gardens before gathering on the snorkel deck to participate in a fish feed. Discover some of the 1500 species of tropical fish that call the reef home, including Spangled Emperor, Giant Trevally and the Hump-Headed Maori Wrasse as they are hand fed by the Marine Biologist. Early this afternoon we cruise through Trinity Bay before arriving in tropical Cairns at 1:30pm for disembarkation at Trinity Wharf. Meals: breakfast, lunch.
On arrival in Cairns they collect a hire car for three days and make their way to the Rydges Esplanade for 3 nights in a standard room only basis. From CAIRNS: Experience the contrast of the regions oldest and most picturesque railway and the invisible technology of the worlds most beautiful Cableway in one day. Enjoy your day knowing that we have taken care of all the details. We will collect you from your accommodation and take you to the Freshwater Station. Here you will meet your hostess for the day who will run through the days schedule. Once aboard the train, sit back and enjoy the spectacular views as you journey through 15 hand cut tunnels and past spectacular waterfalls. Following this you have 1 hour and 30 minutes free time to do some of your own exploring; check out the local markets (Heritage Markets daily). Yourhostess will be waiting for you at Skyrail with your tickets. Once aboard, you will be amazed as you glide silently over the rainforest canopy on the worlds most beautiful rainforest experience. There are two stations enroute where you can alight and enjoy a walk through the rainforest to spectacular lookouts and views or visit the CSIRO Interpretive Centre at Barron Falls Station to discover more about the special plants and animals that inhabit this unique environment. Our Skyrail journey may end at Caravonica lakes but not the fun. A short distance frO~the Skyrail Terminal is the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park and first stop there is the extravagant buffet lunch. Afterward you lunch you will meet your indigenous guide for the afternoo as you explore all the attractions of Tjapukai - movie thea res, stage shows, craft demonstrations, the Aboriginal Village~nd of course, the famous Tjapukai Dance Troupe. The following two days are used to explore the area with their hire car, possibly attempting the drive up to Cape York Peninsula and the Torres Strait. On day three they drop the hire car off at the airport and board a flight to Auckland. Again to keep their costs down, on arrival in Auckland they will make their own way to a hostel (approx £11 per person per night) and spend 5 nights in Auckland exploring the city and surrounding area. Two excursions they were hoping to try were trips to 90 mile beach and the hot springs at Rotorua. After their 5 nights in Auckland and the hectic time in Australia they need some more sun, sand and sea. Therefore their next flight is from Auckland to Nadi in Fiji. They will be spending 7 relaxing nights in Fiji at a hostel again (from as little as £5 per person per night). Lot’s to see and do in Fiji but we suspect they will just be on the beach before their final destination.
They will depart Fiji and cross the dateline, therefore arriving in Los Angeles before they have left Fiji. Los angeles is their final destination and they will again be staying in a hostel by the beach. While in Los Angeles they will be taking the Hop-on, Hop-off Double Decker Fun Tour.
