Η Παροικία γιÏŒρτασε και φÎτος τα Αγια Πάθη και την Ανάστησιν του Σωτήρος με ακÏŒμη μία ευχή. Λευτεριά στην ΚÏπρο μας.

Χιλιάδες πιστÏŽν κατÎκλυσαν τους ναοÏς για να γιορτάσουν και φÎτος το Πάσχα.
Μικροί και μεγάλοι συνεχίζουν τα ήθη και Îθιμα με το ψήσιμο της φλαοÏνας η του τσουρεκιοÏ το βάψιμο των αυγÏŽν και άλλων εθίμων του Πάσχα .
Η παροικία κατÎκλυσεν τους ναοÏς ειδικά την Μεγάλη ΠÎμπτη και ΠαρασκεÏη για να παρακολουθήσουν τις συνταρακτικÎς ακολουθείες των Αγίων και Τιμίων ΠαθÏŽν του Σωτήρος, και το Μεγάλο Σάββατον να γιορτάσουν το ΧαρμÏŒσυνο ΓεγονÏŒς της Αναστάσεως.
Σε πολλÎς εκκλησίες ÏŒπου το επÎτρεψεν ο καιρÏŒς την Μεγάλη Παρασκευή Îγινε η περιφορά του Επιταφίου στους δρÏŒμους.
Στη εκκλησία Αγίου Δημητρίου στο Εντμοντον άνω των 5 χιλιάδων πιστÏŽν παρÎστησαν στην ακολουθεία της Μεγάλης Παρασκευής και μεταξÏ των προσκεκλημÎνων ήσαν οι Andy Love M.P. for Edmonton,
Ο δήμαρχος του Ενφιλτ ΕλευθÎριος Σάββα, οι Δημοτικοί ΣÏμβουλοι ΑνδρÎας Κωνσταντινίδης, ΓιÏŽργος Σάββα, Chris Joannides,
και πολλοί άλλοι επίσημοι.
Αισθητή ήτο και η παρουσία πολλÏŽν νÎων που Îιναι κάτι το ενθαρρυντικÏŒ για το μÎλλον της παροικίας μας και του ΕλληνισμοÏ γενικÏŽτερα.
Στη Εκκλησία της Παναγίας στο Wood Green μεταξÏ των επισήμων προσκεκλημÎνων παρÏŽν ήτο και ο δημοτικÏŒς σÏμβουλος Enfield Πάμπος Χαραλάμπους και υποψήφιοs των ΕργατικÏŽν στο Enfield Southgate.
Ολοι ευχÏθηκαν το ΧρÏŒνια Πολλά, ΧριστÏŒς ΑνÎστη και Λευτεριά στη ΚÏπρο μας.

The Easter was celebrated in style during the Holy week.
Thousands of worshippers attended the Holy week Services

Thousands of worshippers attended the Holy week Services and about 5 thousand people attended the Good Friday service at the Greek Orthodox Church of St Demetrios where the the Epitaphios was paraded along the Streets of Edmonton in Town Road , Logan Road, Ranworth Road, Monmouth Road N9
The Good Friday Service saw in attendance among other guests Andy Love M.P, the Mayor of Enfield Eleftherios Savva, Cllrs Andreas Constantinides , George Savva , Chris Joannides and many other dignitaries.
The Service was conducted by father Kyprianos, father John Hookway, and Deacon Angelos,
Father Kyprianos welcomed the guests and wished everyone a Happy Easter.
He explained the meaning of Easter and the message it sends.
It is one of the biggest Feast in the Greek Orthodox Christian if not the most important one and it is celebrated with the Rise of Christ with barbeques and the festivities end on Tuesday
The parade took place peacefully without any incidents, and on Saturday the service lasted until 3. a.m. the following day.
The Greek Cypriot community in Enfield is one of the largest in north London and the Community of St Demetrios in Edmonton was established in the early 70s.
