SHERBORNE HOTEL - DORSET

Memories

(Now demolished for a housing development)

The Sherborne Hotel - home of the first Keyboard Winter Warmer held on the weekend of 3rd December 2010, thirty years to the very weekend when the same production team introduced Home Electronic Organ Festivals to the UK at Pontin's Barton Hall, Torquay.

This West Dorset hotel iwas ideal for Keyboard Winter Warmers because it was in the heart of this beautiful area of England. Many provincial towns are nearby, giving you plenty of scenery, history and culture to explore if you wanted to venture from the weekend's exciting activities.

What made The Sherborne Hotel so special…

This 60-room hotel was set in spacious grounds surrounded by pleasant lawns and mature trees. With comfortable, accommodation was as pictured below, a cosy bar and lounge to relax in and a restaurant to enjoy mouth-watering breakfasts and evening meals, The Sherborne had everything you needed for a Winter Warmer Weekend
The full tariff for the Keyboard Winter Warmer included all the extras that came with the event, including Christmas presents for all the guests.

The Raleigh function room set up for a conference.

Sherborne Abbey - Founded by St. Aldhelm in AD 705, the Abbey has developed from Saxon cathedral to the worshipping heart of a monastic community, and finally, to one of the most beautiful of England's parish churches. For many it is still the 'cathedral of Dorset', and the Benedictine heritage lives on in the daily offering of prayer and praise,

The Abbey is noted for its carol services in December and Keyboard Winter Warmer guests had the opportunity of attending the Sunday service to make the weekend extra special.
