James Foley RIP
My heart goes out to the family and loved ones of this poor man, slaughtered by barbarians.
How any human being can do this to another, coldly, callously and for propaganda purposes - words fail me. I am so thankful that the actual footage has not been run by the media but even to see stills footage of Mr Foley in those orange robes with his knife-wielding executioner black-clad beside him is chilling and unforgettable, knowing what then took place.
This is precisely what these barbarians want of course. To shake us up in our own homes.
But there's something I can't work out here. Reports suggest the leaders of this organisation are intelligent. They butchered Mr Foley supposedly to send a message to the USA to cease from bombing them. But surely they will have achieved the exact opposite. Because now the West will be united in their determination to help rid Iraq and Syria of these demons and will likely not stop until the job is done.
So, am I missing something here? Perhaps they are smart in the sense of media manipulation but extremely short-sighted when it comes to understanding that if you behave worse than a rabid dog there is only one way of dealing with you.
