About Me
I have loved horses ever since I can remember, and finally pestered my parents enough that they bought me my first pony, Judy, for my 8th birthday. We did a bit of everything together and she was the 'ideal' first pony.
After high school I attended The North Highland College and studied for my HND in Equestrian Management. From there I spent time in America on an Arabian stud ranch working with youngstock. When I returned to the Highlands, I started work on a local estate doing pony trekking, and then started work at the prestigous Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle, teaching riding and leading treks out. There I gained my BHS stage 3, and Trek Leader exams.
When I lost Judy in 2009 after 18 years together, I wanted to create something to remember her by that I could keep with me always. I had kept some of her tail hair with the idea of making something special.
I had seen bracelets made out of horse hair before, and knew I would be able to make one myself.
Friends and family said how lovely it was and so during my time off for maternity leave at the start of 2012, I set about refining my designs and practising new ones. Which has led me to now create High Tail Braids.
