Highland Jumps Workshop
13 August 2008

Highland Coaches are to benefit from the experience of former International Jumps Athlete and now National Jumps Manager Darren Ritchie.  Ritchie, who holds the Scottish Long Jump Record and competed in the 2002 Commonwealth Games will visit Inverness on Wednesday to learn more about Athletics in the Highlands.  During his visit he will be working with local coaches to help develop horizontal jumps in the area.  The Horizontal Jumps workshop is open to all coaches with select Highland athletes also benefiting from the session.  With an increasing number of Highland and Islands Athletes performing well in Horizontal jumps, such as Andrew Raeburn from Caithness attaining the UK10 in the Triple Jump, this workshop is a fantastic opportunity for any coach to pick up some tips from Darren.  The workshop is taking place at Queens Park Stadium, Inverness from 1pm – 4pm.  For more information on the workshop please contact Alistair Cameron, Regional Jumps Coach.
