Primary Sportshall Athletics

Sportshall Athletics is track and field for young people with no need for a stadium using safe and brightly coloured equipment. Primary Sportshall Athletics (PSA) is the National programme for primary aged children.  These exciting Festivals can be set up in a sports hall or basketball court. Children of all abilities and experience can enjoy working as a team in an event that is as much fun to watch as it is to participate in.  There are a number of different Sportshall Athletics Programmes for athletes of different ages and there are also a large number of resources and a variety of fun equipment available to help run the Festivals or Run Jump Throw Clubs.

Highland Primary Sportshall Festivals

As the PSA concept is flexible, with many ways in which to organise events, children from across the Highland Region are able to access Athletics through a local Schools Festival.  Students from Inverness College and a number pupils completing the Sports Leaders courses at associated High Schools are assisting in the delivery of the Festivals.  The Highland Active Schools Team are also instrumental in the delivery and success of the programme.

Developing and expanding previous programmes, during Winter 2009/ 2010 there will be a number of Festivals taking place in Highland.
