Henry's Children have been mates for almost 20 years and have played in numerous bands - from a jazz trio to indie rock n roll, to skiffle, to funk and blues. Due to a pror arrangement, Jon Allen needed to put a band together for a one off gig. We patched something together and that was it. Cries of 'We should have done this before' and 'You really are alright at this' were answered and away we went. We've been gigging for about 12 months now and have a back catalogue of songs that should make the difficult third album less, er, difficult

Reviews:

"Deciding to stick around to catch Henry's Children, having already heard lots about them and spotted their flyer's and posters in various venues, it was the right decision. The Brummy boys played a brilliant set, during which they mixed gentle pop with a sound last heard so well coming from the Levellers. 'When We Fall' began as a jaw dropping ballad which quickly became their anthem, they completely filled the stage with sound and had the audience eating out of their hands. "

"Things warmed up a bit when Henrys Children came on stage with their lively mix of indie, folk rock and blusey numbers. The Birmingham six piece included four singers and a set of big rollicking rock songs that that went down well and drew people into the front of stage area. The voices of singers Rozie Rhodes and Jon Allen carried well across the field and the crowd were getting into the music now, as the sun made a more sustained appearance."

"Next band up was Birmingham based 6 piece Henry’s Children. Standout songs include ‘Standing On The Corner’ and ‘When We Fall’. This Indie folk rock band have made a name for themselves with many people singing along with vocalist John Allen who has the voice of a young Neil Diamond at times and in addition to the lush guitar tones being produced on stage it is easy to see a band like this delivering Verve style anthems."
