Interesting in Joining?

The modern Knights Templar and Knights of Malta steadfastly maintain the Trinitarian Christian Faith and the principles and ideals of Freemasonry — and have regard to the chivalric standards, discipline and objectives of the mediaeval Orders from which we derive our inspiration.

Becoming a Masonic Knight Templar

If you know someone who is already a Knight Templar, tell them you are interested.  They can then tell you more about the next steps in the process.  Your friend may belong to one of our Preceptories that could invite you to attend their Refectory or supper after a regular meeting.  In this way you can meet other members before joining.  Talk with your friend about this.

Alternatively you can contact us by means of the “Feedback - Contact Us” page on this website.

Requirements of Applicants

Each applicant is asked to promise fealty to the Most Eminent and Supreme Grand Master and his successors in Office, as well as to his immediate Superior Knight, and to submit to and observe all the Usages, Customs, Statutes, Rules, Regulations and Ordinances present and future of the Order, and all the Laws as of ancient right accustomed.

The applicant is required to attest to his profession of the Christian Faith and belief in the Holy Trinity. He must be a Master Mason of two years or more, and be a subscribing member of a regular Craft Masonic Lodge and a Royal Arch Chapter.

After acceptance by a Preceptory

Once accepted by a Preceptory the applicant is informed of the costs of membership and the uniform and regalia required.  He can then be installed as a Knight Templar in a Preceptory.

Following this he becomes eligible to be installed as a Knight of Malta, which is prefaced by conferral of the Knighthood of St Paul, or Mediterranean Pass.
