Because of this our overheads are low and we can offer courses at a much reduced rate, although the quality of what we offer is exceptionally high. The organisation is carried out by volunteers, who do it to give others the chance of enjoying arts and crafts. All courses are taught by experienced tutors, artists in their own right. A Voyage into Beading—Jenny Hodgett

You will learn how to make a beautiful pendant with matching bracelet and earrings using SuperDuos, pearls and seed beads. These beads produces a stunning effect . This workshop is a good introduction to the art of bead weaving using various shaped beads.
This course is suitable for all abilities. Tools and equipment will be provided but there will be a charge for materials.
Decorating Objects with Acrylic Paints

This course will explore using acrylic paints in some more decorative ways. Acrylic paints are durable and can be used on practically any surface with the correct priming. The painting can be detailed, abstract or patterned – whatever you choose. You are invited to bring in any object that you would like to decorate – from wooden boxes, plastic or terracotta flowerpots, large stones – even welly boots! I have always painted my house sign on a chunk of timber. I will supply primer spray, sealant and sandpaper for a small extra charge and will have a small selection of objects for sale if you don’t bring something from home.

We will use a variety of silk painting techniques, with and without outliner to produce unique and delightful silk paintings that can then be attached to cards.

Come and try needle felting and make your own bespoke Christmas Trees with a wooden reel base and baubles . Both worked on a polystyrene former and decorated to your own design. Suitable for all levels of ability. There will be a small charge for materials from the tutor.

Using soft Bullion wire you will learn how to make brooches, pendants and decorations. Once embellished with beads and other elements, you will have some very original pieces of work. Ideal for Christmas presents or pinned onto cards. There will be a small charge for materials from the tutor.
