SPECIAL GUEST: Norma Corlette . . . the woman behind The Learning Game

ENTREPRENEURS from throughout the north will gather at Aviemore Highland Resort later this year for the annual Fusion conference.

This year’s event, taking place on Thursday 19 and Friday November 20, is being held under the banner of Creative Collisions and features Norma Corlette.

She is the founder of Edinburgh-based Sulis Enterprises, which aims to help businesses of all kinds grow using its bespoke programmes, mentoring coaching and other support.

A past venture of Ms Corlette’s, The Learning Game, won awards for its ability to develop self-esteem and build confidence in young people and within just five years had bases throughout the UK, licensed products in Germany and Ireland, and business in Singapore and Hong Kong.

In 2007, Ms Corlette created a philanthropic venture supporting and encouraging businesswomen. She is also a former board member of the Entrepreneurial Exchange.

About 170 delegates from across the Highlands and Islands attended last year’s Fusion conference featuring Charan Gill, Scotland’s “curry king”, while the previous year Gerald Ratner entertained a business audience with tales of the rise and dramatic fall from grace of his jewellery business.

Fusion deputy chairman David Fraser said: “Our conferences have become a magnet for business leaders.”

Fusion is a not-for-profit membership company supported by Highlands and Islands Enterprise. Its role is to stimulate interest in innovation and entrepreneurship throughout the area.
