Meeting with city officers and Councillors

Friends Chair (Lisa McIntyre) and FENRA committee member met with Guy Belcher (City Nature Conservation Projects Officer) Clare Blair and Gerri Bird in Bramblefields to walkabout, view and discuss the rash of anti-social occurrences in Bramblefields and see what could be done about it.  Incidences of trees being broken, fly-tipping of bags of rubbish, clothes, prams and bicycles, general litter, broken glass and dog poo impact gravely upon the ecology of Bramblefields and the local nature reserve officer can only do so much.  What Bramblefields Friends group needs is a fresh injection of interest and hands-on support from the community and also more assistance from the City to implement activities to enhance the profile, protection and care for Bramblefields in the community.  If anyone would like to get involved please contact the Friends group using the feedback link on the left or contact the local nature reserve officer at the City council.  We desperately need more active members.
