The Corporation took over at the top with a strong performance at home against leaders Quarrymans. With the jukebox at maximum throttle the home side never let the visitors settle as they racked up the points early on.

Things looked bleak for the Quarrymans when Alan Kennedy took the first singles to make the score 5 - 1 to the Corpy before Steve Murray, Colin Rowntree and Barry McAtominey replied to bring the match to 5 -4. The win was confirmed for the home team when Chris Bowman got the better of Gearge Cuthbertson and Neil Fannon rounded things off in the final leg.

High Fell A continued to impress when recording a tremendous 6-5 win away at reigning league champions Nursery House A to serve notice that with a stronger line up they mean business this season. With Tommy Hutchinson returinig to darts after a few seasons out an already strong singles line up looks formidable this season.

Nursery House B laid down a marker that this season would be their best in the league with a fine 8-3 win away at Malting House A.

Holly Hill continued their sluggish form at home to the Greyhound losing out by the odd leag 6-5. With such a strong individual line up it remains a mystery why they are unable to bring their undoubted strength to bear in the league.

Malting House B returned to winning ways edging a tight contest at High Fell B running out the winners by the odd leg in a 6-5 victory.

JEM pulled out of the league after failing to fulfil their fixture at the Swan, all points have been deducted as per league rule 9.
