Coalfields Regeneration Trust Funding

FLAG members and the local community have really benefitted from the Funding we recieved from CRT.  We were able to offer accreditted programmes in Mental Health First Aid as well as professional training and certification in Indian Head Massage and Reiki.

Since qualifying in the holistic therapies our members have been offering treatments to local people, which has had a great deal of success.  The therapists are hoping to take this a stage further by setting up a therapy room.  They are currently utilising the BING Room in Blantyre Miners Resource Centre on Fridays, which has been successful, but it has limited the treatments they could offer.  Demand for their work has been high and a room dedicated to their practice would be more suitable and will mean less queueing for clients.  The treatments have been free of charge, but with an ever growing number of clients the therapists feel that a donation from clients would help them to take the next step.  The group hope that the donations will pay for the therapy room, but this will be reviewed frequently.
