EntreMundos es una asociación no lucrativa que apoya y expande la capacidad de comunidades y ONGs respetando sus principios y valores.  EntreMundos es un intermediario, que faculta y conecta organizaciones y voluntarios, nacionales e internacionales con el objetivo de maximizar el impacto de cada organización.

Visión

Llegar a ser un líder guatemalteco de confianza en el progreso comunitario, desarrollo de organizaciones y apoyo a voluntarios.

Es nuestro objetivo conectar las organizaciones social y culturalmente activas en Guatemala juntos con recursos útiles, y proveer un foro y centro de información para la gente que desea involucrarse en proyectos de carácter social, cultural o político.  Creemos en el valor del trabajo voluntario para el desarrollo de los proyectos y las comunidades.

¿Por qué Entremundos es necesario?

La gente indígena y rural que compone la mayoría de la población en la región se enfrenta a los más altos niveles de pobreza y exclusión social en Guatemala. Como consecuencia, cientos de organizaciones se han comprometido al desarrollo de sus comunidades.  Sin embargo, la mayoría de estas organizaciones están luchando por sobrevivir debido a fondos y recursos limitados, y requieren habilidades y capacitación adicional para dirigir sus organizaciones, cumplir programas efectivos en las comunidades a las que sirven y hacer sostenibles sus organizaciones.  La necesidad de ayuda para construir esas capacidades y efectividad es imperativa para el desarrollo de dichas organizaciones, comunidades y el país como un todo.
 
EntreMundos ha desarrollado y fomentado lazos con más que 160 organizaciones no-gubernamentales (ONGs), sobre todo en el Altiplano Occidental, los cuales van desde organizaciones de comunidades pequeñas y de ONGs medianas trabajando en los campos de desarrollo y salud, así como en los derechos humanos de las mujeres y la gente indígena. 

El papel crucial de Entremundos en el sector de las ONGs en el Altiplano Occidental: sus contactos extensivos, relaciones con organizaciones y recursos de desarrollo, brindan a la organización una ventaja única para continuar dirigiéndose a las necesidades urgentes para construir redes y capacitación.  Como resultado, EntreMundos ha creado una reputación a nivel regional como una fuente principal  para auxilio organizacional y de desarrollo.

Welcome to the Cojolya Association of Mayan Women Weavers "Dedicated to the preservation of the ancient art of Mayan backstrap-loom weaving and the traditions surrounding it - not just as a historic relic, but as a viable economic enterprise for the women who weave." The Cojolya Association of Mayan Women Weavers is a Guatemalan non-profit (NGO) located in the highland Tzutujil town of Santiago Atitlan, on the shores of the world-famous Lake Atitlan. For over a quarter of a century Cojolya has been providing sustainable, fair-trade work for some 80 women who weave on the backstrap loom. It was founded by American designer, Candis E. Krummel, and Tzutujil Mayan, Antonio Ramirez Sosof, who shared a mission to preserve and encourage this ancient Mayan tradition. Each product is meticulously designed by Candis, fusing the skills and techniques of the Mayan backstrap loom with color, form, texture, and movement. Combining the finest, eco-conscious materials and innovative textile designs inspired by nature and art, Cojolya creates woven designer accessories, showcasing the structure and diversity of the backstrap loom in a style not seen anywhere else in Guatemala. The Cojolya Association also runs a social program aimed at improving the lives of its workers, their families, and the local community. An informative Weaving Museum is open to visitors to the Cojolya weaving center in Santiago Atitlan, along with its gallery shop. Bienvenidos a la Asociación de Cojolya de Mujeres Tejedoras Mayas

sino como una empresa económica viable para las mujeres que tejen. "

La Asociación de Cojolya de Mujeres Tejedoras Mayas es una organización sin fines de lucro de Guatemala (ONG), ubicado en la ciudad Tzutujil las tierras altas de Santiago Atitlán, a orillas del famoso lago de Atitlán.

Durante más de un cuarto de siglo ha estado proporcionando Cojolya sostenible, equitativo funcionamiento del comercio de unos 80 mujeres que tejen en el telar de cintura. Fue fundada por el diseñador americano, Candis E. Krummel, y Tzutujil Maya, Antonio Ramírez Sosof, que compartían una misión de preservar y fomentar esta tradición maya.

Cada producto está cuidadosamente diseñado por Candis, la fusión de las habilidades y técnicas de los mayas telar de cintura con el color, forma, textura y movimiento. La combinación de los mejores, eco-consciente y materiales textiles innovadores diseños inspirados en la naturaleza y el arte, Cojolya crea tejido accesorios de diseño, mostrando la estructura y la diversidad del telar de cintura en un estilo que no se ve en ningún otro lugar en Guatemala.

La Asociación Cojolya también ejecuta un programa social destinado a mejorar la vida de sus trabajadores, sus familias y la comunidad local. Un Museo informativo tejido está abierto a los visitantes de la Cojolya tejido centro de Santiago Atitlán, junto con su tienda de la galería. Tours ofrece demostraciones de los tejedores y fabricantes de jaspe en sus hogares están disponibles, junto con las clases de tejido para todos los niveles.

Nomadic Hands

Mission: To inspire youth to become involved in social and environmental adventures around the world.

Through documentaries, photography and journalism, Nomadic Hands strives to create awareness about people and organisations that are changing the world.

The project encourages active participation and allows young people to learn first hand how to create lasting and effective change, through motivational speeches, low cost international travel and volunteer workshops,  multimedia travel internships, and exhibitions and screenings.

Vision: Nomadic Hands vision is to be the largest help network and inspirational peace project in the world, collaborating with individuals, groups and organisations to create a global society where all life is treated with kindness and respect.

We create healthy and authentic alliances between all countries on Earth by accepting and appreciating people of all nationalities, celebrating cultural diversity and developing greater understanding of varying customs and values.

We promote harmony, honesty and purposefullness and influence future generations to pursue their dreams whilst helping to benefit the rest of humanity. We inspire people to act upon their positive thoughts and ideas, bringing about a peaceful, global civilization free of violence, prejudice, separation and war.

Nomadic Hands helps to create feelings of pride and satisfaction within all people who help in the areas human rights, animal welfare and environmental conservation, regardless of their age, gender, race, background, economic status and religious and political beliefs.

We do not kill life, but nurture it;

We do not provoke wars, but prevent them;

We do not believe that world peace is just an ideal fantasy, but an easily achievable common practice for all.
