The proprietor is John Lyth of Birch Hill Farm, Scaling, Loftus.  John's father, Dick, operated Egton Abattoir for many years, and the family tradition now continues.

The abattoir has approval to slaughter cattle up to Forty-Eight Months, lambs, sheep and pigs.
