Things to see and do

Dunvegan is surrounded by a wealth of history and stunning scenery. The village is popular with those that are visiting Dunvegan Castle, MacLeods Tables, Coral Beach, Neist Point.

Walking in this area is amazing, MacLeods Tables is a long walk, the views from the top look over to Dunvegan Village, Coral Beach, the Cuillins are well worth the effort. 

Coral Beach on a warm sunny day is almost tropical looking with the beautiful blue hues of the water and white sands.

The Two Churches Walk, a lovely walk through woodland into the open with views of Loch Dunvegan and the Outer Isles, as you go further along, amazing views of MacLeods's Tables, the Cuillins and the Millennium Stone.

Why not go down to the pier late afternoon and watch the fishermen come home to land their catch of langoustines and velvet crabs.

Paddle around the shoreline of Loch Dunvegan in a canoe or kayak, you might have a visit from an enquirying seal or two!  Fish from the pier (bring your own vessels and fishing tackle)

Boat trips are available from Dunvegan Castle to visit the Seal Colony, fishing trips can also be arranged.

Giant MacAskill Museum is good for children of all ages.

St John's Chapel is on the outskirt of the village, at the head of Loch Caroy, there is a small sign and car park.

Harlosh is another township outside of Dunvegan, from lower Harlosh, the Piper's Cave near to Harlosh Point can be reached, the scenery by car is wonderful too.   Continue to Roag, then Ard Roag and you can reach Roag Island when the tide is out, be careful not to get stuck. Further along this road will bring you to Orbost, park in the steading and walk to Varkasaig bay or continue through the woodland to MacLeod's Maidens (sea stacks) this is a long walk with amazing scenery!
