EOS 1100D

This is my EOS 1100D camera body which I am regretfully selling. I'll be very sad to see this go as it has been my first DSLR camera and has introduced me to a world that has turn out to be my passion and shaped my life. It has served me very well and I can't say a bad thing about it. I am currently in possession of a 7D and a 1D Mk IIn and in several regards, this baby 1100D can hold a candle to both of them. Most of the images on this site have been taken using it, including all those in the Wildlife section and the last 6 of those in the Landscapes section.
As a camera to introduce someone to digital SLR photography, I wouldn't recommend anything else. It is blissfully simple to use, yet even now that I'm upgrading to a "better" model, I don't think I have filled out its potential.

In terms of its condition, it's doing very well. I bought it as a refurbished by Canon item, so it was as good as new. I just checked it on EOScount and it's done 37,363 shutter actuations, which is very low. Although Canon hasn't released a number for this camera, similar level bodys are listed to last about 100,000 actuations, and they do often last longer so there's still a lot left in it.
Aesthetically, it's absolutely fine. The screen has no actual scratches on it, just the kind of marks you'd expect on a not-quite-new-phone for example. Functionally too, it's still in complete working order. The only thing of note is a small speck on the sensor. It is only visible if you're shooting something plain like sky and with a stopped down aperture. This isn't anything to worry about as getting dust on the sensor is unavoidable and at some point all sensors require cleaning. It's had this speck for several months now and it's never troubled me enough to do anything about it. If it is visible it can easily be removed using the "Stamp" tool which comes with the included DPP software. There is also a "Dust Delete Data" function to automatically remove such specks, but again, I've never felt the need.

When I bought it, it came as a kit with:
• Camera
• Lens
• Battery
• Body Cap
• Charger
• UK Adapter
• USB Cable
• 3 Guide booklet things
• 3 CDs (for Digital Photo Professional, Camera Manual and Software Manual)
• Instruction Manual

These will all be included except the Lens. I may consider offers for the Camera WITH the lens, but I would only accept if the price was right, so it would probably be better for a buyer to choose and buy a lens for themselves that suits their needs.
Hmmm starting to rethink....
