Kingfishers
I love photographing and watching Kingfishers. There is just something amazing about them, hard to put my finger on. They are shy and hard work, so any success is all the more rewarding. I used to see them on walks very rarely and did my best with my cameraphone and digital compact, but for the most part this bore no fruit. Now I have better kit and spend as much time as I can photographing them.
There are two pairs of Kingfishers I know and try to keep track of. I know them as "The Croft Pair" and "The Connie Pair". I am mostly focused on the Croft pair as they are more local. All the photos on this site are of the Croft pair. They have had a hard year this year. The full story is on the blog.
