FOREWORD

The year was 1959, I was 15 years old, my mother and grandmother took me and my twin brother to see this popular entertainment show at the London Palladium, it was a wonderful show with none-stop great music

Policical Correctness have robbed us of talented show people like this. There was no malice at all, the crowds went in their droves simply to see the minstrels singing these fantastic melodies which I, along with millions of others in the UK, enjoyed every week on BBC1 TV., there was no offence intended by the singers

At the end of the show my twin brother and I went back stage to see one particular Minstrel - leading soloist, Dai Francis.

Dai was brought up in the Neath valley just like us twins, we introduced ourselves to him and he was thrilled to see us and  told the Tiller Girls: 'the twins are in town'.

We also told Dai that we played music, me on piano and my twin on double bass.   We held concerts with our father at the Glynneath Social Club, which was regular a event for around 15 years.

Dai Francis often loved coming home to Glynneath to see his brothers, there were quite a few of them, who also sang in concerts

When Dai came home he always called over to hear our band and he gave us great entertainment with songs from the South

Great days, great memories.
