RegenerART off to a great start
15 November 2009

Finally its starting to happen! On Friday 7th the RegenerART team decended on teminus road at 9.30 am,ready to install our first ever window. This used to be an arcade up the top end of Terminus road. It was very dirty, so we got to work with mop, brushes, and buckets of hot water which were very kindly given to us by the lady in the gift shop next door. Many thanks! It took about an hour to get the place cleaned out and the windows clean, and then Clare Hackney installed her large acrylic paintings in the windows with help from Susanne,Ben,Tania,Jane,Ben and Cat.

After a well deserved tea break we carried on to the next shop down the road, what used to be a shoe shop, to clean and install Jane Wildes work. After that it was on to the third shop in Station parade, opposite the station, to clean out the previouse work that had been installed by the alcohol awareness team. This took a very long time to clean as the window was covered in sticky lettering. Eventually it was just Ben and Tania left, but they were then joined by Jon from the Towner team, who had bought some stanly blades with him. This made the job of remonving the letters much easier! We'll remember that for next time. At last the letters were off, and it was left tidy for Ben Hackney to install his work the following Thursday (12th Nov).

You can see pictures of all the work on Face book, or in the RegeneART Pics gallery here.
